Topkapı Palace: The sprawling, opulent home of the Ottoman Sultans for centuries. Don't skip a walk through the beautiful Harem section.
Basilica Cistern: A surreal, subterranean ancient water reservoir illuminated by moody, colored lights and classical music. It is a great, cool escape if the afternoon gets hot.

The Grand Bazaar: A legendary, vaulted labyrinth of over 4,000 shops. Go in the morning (Tuesday–Thursday) for the most relaxed experience buying spices, Turkish ceramics, and textiles.
